ABF Lock Down - Wrap Up

Attention all guards and prisoners,

The warden would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's Atlanta Bear Fest (ABF) Lock Down. You made the weekend absolutely fantastic. The weather could not have been better and DJ Eric did an amazing job of soothing the inmate population with his blend of rock, old-school and pop infused with a techno/house beat. We're not even sure if the inmates realized that they were listening to subliminal messages like, "you will reform," resistance is futile," and "I will not be a prison bitch any more" -- to name a few.

The crew that manned the mess hall also did a fantastic job of keeping rioting to a minimum. Their ability to shuttle food to and from the kitchen was a small miracle. However, the real magician of the weekend was our Prison Chef, Kris. He and the other ABF guards cut-up watermelon on Sunday so the prisoners wouldn't obtain any illegal contraband and also coordinated all of the food for the entire Lock Down weekend. If you see Kris, please let him know how much you appreciate his efforts.

Everyone enjoyed fun in the sun in the pool on Sunday. Everyone had a great time visiting new and old friends. The warden wants to remind the guard staff that fraternizing with the inmates and their guests is strictly prohibited! Although the measurement for prison-issued uniforms is necessary, doing it out at the pool in such a public forum made some of the inmates feel like a piece of meat on display. Please refrain from man-handling the prisoners in the future.

There were also reports of gang activity during Sunday's pool party. This will not be tolerated at ABF: Lock Down Prison! The warden expects the guards to be proactive when observing any gangs forming and stamp out this vile behavior in its infancy.

The warden will be sending out a survey shortly to all ABF attendees. Your response will help make next year's event even better. Please look for the survey in your e-mail and take the time to respond. Failure to do so could result in two days in solitary confinement.
